Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Lambeth
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Lambeth has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place in any part of our business.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Lambeth provides local and regional transport, removals, and related services. Our activities rely on a combination of direct employees, self-employed contractors, and third-party suppliers who provide vehicles, fuel, equipment, and ancillary services. We recognise that elements of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation and we are committed to ensuring that our operations do not contribute to modern slavery in any form.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation. This applies to everyone working for or on behalf of Man with Van Lambeth, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter that may result in termination of contracts, cessation of work, and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities. We expect our staff and business partners to uphold the same high standards and to act immediately if they have any concerns.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We seek to work only with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners who share our commitment to ethical conduct. As part of our onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we require our suppliers to confirm that they comply with applicable labour laws and that they prohibit modern slavery and human trafficking within their own operations and supply chains. We may request information about recruitment practices, use of labour agencies, and procedures for verifying workers' identity and right to work, particularly in higher-risk categories such as temporary labour, cleaning, and vehicle hire services.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we have introduced a programme of proportionate supplier audits and checks. These may include reviewing documentation, conducting site visits where appropriate, and asking targeted questions about working conditions, pay practices, and worker welfare. We reserve the right to carry out additional, unannounced checks where we identify a higher risk of labour exploitation. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within a defined timeframe, or, if necessary, suspend or terminate the relationship.
Training and Awareness
We aim to ensure that our management team and those involved in procurement, recruitment, and day-to-day operations understand the risks of modern slavery. We provide guidance on recognising indicators of exploitation, such as signs of control or intimidation, workers who appear fearful, or inconsistencies in documentation. Staff are reminded of the importance of raising concerns promptly so that we can take swift and appropriate action.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns relating to modern slavery or unethical labour practices in our business or supply chains. Concerns may be raised directly with a line manager or a senior manager. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, and we will take disciplinary action against anyone who seeks to deter or penalise whistleblowers.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Lambeth recognises that the risks associated with modern slavery can change over time. We are committed to continuous improvement in our processes and controls. This Modern Slavery Statement, along with our supporting procedures, will be reviewed at least once a year, or more frequently if necessary, to reflect changes in our business activities, risk profile, or applicable legislation. As part of this annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our supplier audits, training, and reporting mechanisms, and we will update our approach where we identify opportunities to strengthen our safeguards against modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Lambeth and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations.
